Friends is an American sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman and resented by the NBC television network between September 22, 1994 and May 6, 2004, with a total of 236 episodes divided into 10 seasons. The series revolved around a group of friends (Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross) who lived in the neighborhood of Greenwich Village, on the island of Manhattan, in New York City. The series was produced by Bright / Kauffman / Crane Productions in association with Warner Bros Television. The original executive producers were Crane, Kauffman and Kevin S. Bright, with many others to be promoted later. The program has already been broadcast in dozens of countries and reruns of its episodes continue to have good audiences. The series won six Emmy Awards (including one in the Primetime Emmy category for Best Comedy Series), a Golden Globe, two SAG Awards, and 56 other awards with 152 nominations. In 2002, TV Guide magazine launched a list of the 50 best television shows of all time, and Friends was in 21st place.
